Description

• Responsible for organization, analysis, management, and sharing of clinical/scientific data. • Develop innovative and scalable data analysis solutions for next generation sequencing-based genomic data. • Manage and grow a research team supporting research projects utilizing clinical interpretation of genomic data. • Oversee procedures and scientific standards for clinical data analysis and customer requests. • Compile and provide feedback to medical affairs and R&D regarding clinical data needs. • Document data provenance for compliance purposes. • Recruit for and grow the Clinical Data Analysis team. • Mentor and develop the performance of direct reports.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry/academic experience in computational biology, statistical genetics, population genetics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, clinical genetics, molecular genetics or a related field. • >3 years of direct experience in a clinical genomic laboratory or other healthcare setting. • Excellent knowledge of human medical genetics, population genomics, and DNA variation biology. • Familiarity with public human genomics clinical databases and tools. • Deep experience with Illumina technology and with data generated from Illumina’s instruments and assays, particularly from clinical genomic testing performed for screening or diagnostic purposes. • Extensive publication record and experience working in medical affairs. • Demonstrated leadership in working with multiple stakeholders, including medical, legal, regulatory, product development, computing, research, and commercial teams. • Excellent time management skills and an ability to quickly assess and prioritize tasks. • Expertise in SQL and python or R, experienced in R or another language for data visualization. • Expertise in descriptive statistics and statistical analysis such as t-tests, chi-square, regression, etc. • Commitment to support, encourage, teach and lead team members. • Strong communication skills, and the ability to translate between scientifically rigorous statistical analysis and a general audience, in both directions. • Well-organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously with a variety of priorities, scopes, and timelines.
