• Join a pre-IPO startup with capital, traction and runway ($240M funded, $2T market size, and we are profitable💰) • Report directly to our founder/CTO, Musawir Shah (ex-Nvidia, Y-Combinator alum) • Opportunity to scale our users from 5M to 50M in the next few years • Come lead a team of ~60 extremely talented full stack software engineers • Work closely with seasoned peers from companies like Nvidia, Amazon, Microsoft, Andreessen Horowitz, SoFi, etc. • We are looking for a VP, Engineering to join our executive team! We hit a huge milestone in early 2024 by achieving profitability and have ambitious goals for the next few years — scale from 5M to 50M customers and become a $10B business. • Our goal is not to hire quickly but to ensure that we are building a small and mighty team of the highest caliber people which will allow us to stay lean, agile, learn from brilliant colleagues, and accomplish big things together. • At Jerry, we are building the first AllCar™ super app to make car ownership affordable and accessible. We started with insurance in 2019, since then we’ve launched driving behavioral insights, car diagnostics, repair marketplace, and a GPT-4 chatbot and voicebot, and the first telematics-based insurance marketplace in the U.S. • Reporting directly to our co-founder/CTO, Musawir Shah, you will be responsible for managing and scaling our engineering team, mentoring and developing our talented engineers, ensuring we are executing quickly and with very high quality across the entire engineering org. • If you are looking for an opportunity to build products with massive real-world applications, make a big impact, and work with an exceptionally talented team, we'd love to hear from you!

🎯 Requirements

• Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related • 15+ years engineering experience with progressively more responsibilities (ideally, you spent at least a few years as an IC in technically complex or demanding environment before you became a people manager) • You have strong technical mastery in software engineering but remain curious and committed to learning and improving your craft. • You have a strong sense of urgency to deliver results and inspire the team to achieve beyond what they think is possible. • You have a strong sense of ownership and accountability. • You have a track record of leading high-performing engineering teams (ideally, you have managed teams of at least 50+ engineers).
