• At Kpler, we are dedicated to helping our clients navigate complex markets with ease. • By simplifying global trade information and providing valuable insights, we empower organisations to make informed decisions in commodities, energy, and maritime sectors. • Since our founding in 2014, we have focused on delivering top-tier intelligence through user-friendly platforms. • Our team of over 500 experts from 35+ countries works tirelessly to transform intricate data into actionable strategies. • We are looking for a proactive, hands-on GL accountant who will be responsible for the general ledger accounting including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of financial statements and accounts. • This role will ensure data accuracy and will assist with the month-end close activities. • Enter financial data and transactions into the ledger. • Maintains the accuracy of the general ledger. • Reconciles and maintains balance sheet accounts. • Performs account analysis, cost accruals, and bank reconciliations. • Review financial documents for accuracy and reconcile accounts. • Analyze financial data and provide financial recommendations. • Prepare and issue sales tax filings. • Perform federal and state tax calculations and filings. • Assist in the preparation of management accounts and statutory financial statements. • Assure compliance and accuracy to our financial statements by performing checks as part of our internal processes.
Requirements
• 3-5 years of experience in a related accounting role • Knowledge of Netsuite (ERP) will be considered a plus • Strong analytical skills • Effective problem-solving skills to identify and correct financial discrepancies • Technical accounting skills • Knowledge of accounting standards • Ability to work on a team and independently • Excellent spoken and written English • Enthusiastic hands-on and can-do mentality • Strong team player able to work under stress • Attention to detail • Ability to juggle conflicting priorities and meet deadlines
