Description

• Serve as the primary contact on the ship interfacing with stakeholders • Responsible for all aspects of ASC functions on the research vessel • Monitors onboard the vessel charter agreement • Oversees proper use of NSF equipment on the ship • Coordinates safety orientation for new personnel • Develops onsite contingency planning for program schedules • Works with foreign country representatives and dignitaries • Plans and executes science plans with the Ship’s Master and Chief Scientist • Directly manage ASC staff aboard to meet science objectives safely • Track and document cruise data

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Transportation or Nautical Science • At least four (4+) years work experience in the marine science industry • One (1+) year of supervisory experience • At least two (2+) years commercial sailing experience • Background in ship or marine operations
