• Evaluate home insurance quotes and post-bind reviews based on our underwriting guidelines • Review requests for scheduled personal property coverage for high-value items • Participate in cross-training to eventually review car insurance new business • Communicate decisions to customers via email, showing empathy and customer centricity • Apply sound judgment when determining the acceptability of new business within our underwriting guidelines and risk appetite

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing role within the P&C insurance industry (Underwriting experience preferred) • Strong analytical abilities and creative problem-solving skills • Proven experience in making sound underwriting guideline decisions and exercising judgment in both soft and hard insurance markets • Superior desk management to respond to customers and work within multiple platforms • Solid understanding of how underwriting influences loss ratios and potential future claim exposures • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Adaptive to evolving processes and system changes • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
