• Nurture relationships with Kenyan organizations and communities. • Plan and oversee activities performed in Kenya, including volunteer trips and Awasi school activities. • Cultivate and maintain our Child Sponsor Program. • Work closely with our Kenyan liaison and International Development Officer to oversee the activities of Awasi School Project to ensure planning, implementation and outcomes adhere to Linc Worldwide’s mission and the goals of the Board of Directors. • This involves virtual and in-person visits to Kenya • Construction/maintenance of school and well • Registration/Opening the School • Enrollment of students and child sponsor program • Volunteer Trips • Work closely with International Development Officer to communicate and build relationships with Kenyan officials, organizations and communities to ensure we are creating long-term, sustainable solutions with our projects and programs • Ministry of Education • Archdiocese of Kisumu • Awasi Children’s Department and Chief of Awasi • Work closely with the CEO and Finance Department to create budgets and projections for operational and maintenance costs of programs and projects in Kenya - including Child Sponsor Program and Volunteer Trips • Manage Child Sponsor Program • Work with Kenyan community to identify and enroll students, create and maintain child profiles • Communicate child information, progress and photos with Marketing and Donor Relation’s Department to soliciting new sponsors and cultivate relationship with current sponsors • Work closely with CFO to monitor expenses and adjust cost of Child Sponsor Program as needed • Be direct contact and leader for Kenya volunteer trips • Be aware of global climate and regulations when planning trips • Work with Volunteer Coordinator to review applications and secure required volunteer documentation • Work with CEO, CFO and Kenyan liaison to create trip budget, trip itinerary, and book flights • Consult legal assistance to review and update liability waivers, required traveler’s insurance, and ensure LINC’s International Insurance Policy covers activity and number of volunteers for each international trip • Review volunteers’ trip experience and make alterations for future trips to enhance experiences • Communicate directly with Awasi School Staff and school Board of Directors to: • Monitor teachers’ workshops/training schedule • Review and evaluate curriculum implementation through student progress reports/test score and staff evaluations to ensure school is meeting the needs of the community and carrying out the mission of Linc Worldwide • Be culturally competent, stay up-to-date with Kenyan news, be aware of international laws & policies in regards to our work in Kenya and communicate to LINC team • Review requests and respond to external inquiries from individuals/organizations seeking assistance from LINC
• International travel • Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills • Ability to communicate professionally, critically think and manage stressful situations • Previous international travel required. • Previous travel to Kenya desired but not required • Ability to understand foreign currencies • Requires a high degree of confidentiality due to communications with Kenyan Officials, access to Donor information and child information • Ability to speak Luo or Swahili desired, but not required • Subject to background check
