• The General Manager (GM) of Railserve Switching Operations is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all facets and shared services for Railserve Switching Operations. • GM formulates and enforces policies, plans the use of material and deployment of labor. • GM is accountable for projecting and controlling costs by collecting and analyzing information regarding operation’s projects. • Select and develop leadership to empower direct reports to establish a productive work environment. • Promote and manage safety and regulatory compliance through random audits. • Achieve staffing objectives by working with Human Resources to recruit and evaluate job candidates. • Manage projects, pricing, and margins to agreed goals. • Resolve all customer service issues and cost discrepancies. • Maintain a high level of quality service by following organization standards. • Ensure that a preventive maintenance schedule is established and followed on all company equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred and 10+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • 7-10 years’ experience in the railroad industry, or transportation, including experience analyzing project costs and information, setting project budgets, and estimating costs preferred. • 5+ years management/supervisory experience.
