• Who We Are • Murmuration is a nonprofit organization that amplifies the power of civic engagement by providing data, digital tools, and research-driven insights to community-focused organizations. • We’re looking for a Director of Marketing to lead our marketing and communications efforts. • You will work closely with product, partnerships, and research teams to shape brand and product strategies. • You’ll lead a small but mighty team to bring those strategies to life across channels. • If you’re a creative, strategic marketing leader with experience across product, brand, and communications, we’d love to hear from you. • Job Level: M5 • What You’ll Do • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for Murmuration’s products, research, and organizational brand. • Collaborate with product, research, and partnerships teams to craft clear, compelling messaging. • Manage and mentor a small team of marketing and communications professionals. • Lead the development of multi-channel campaigns to promote Murmuration’s products, research, and thought leadership. • Oversee brand management, ensuring consistency and clarity in messaging. • Conduct market research to understand the needs of potential and existing users. • Lead media relations and PR efforts. • Support executive communications efforts. • Track and report on key marketing and communications performance metrics. • Collaborate with external consultants, agencies, and vendors when needed.
• 7+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or related fields with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role. • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing marketing strategies for products, tools, or technology platforms. • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate technical and research content into clear, compelling, audience friendly materials. • Experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, events, email, and earned media. • Background in public relations and media outreach. • Proven experience managing teams with a track record of mentoring and developing talent. • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines. • Experience building and maintaining brand identity and messaging guidelines. • Comfort working in cross-functional environments, collaborating closely with product, research, and partnerships teams. • A collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to advancing Murmuration’s mission.
