📋 Description

• Support and maintain database systems primarily for Microsoft SQL Server in development, test, and production environments. • Perform routine DBA tasks such as backups, performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and data migrations. • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines. • Work with version control systems such as Git or Bitbucket to track and manage changes to database scripts and schemas including code branching activities. • Help build and maintain automation scripts for database provisioning and deployment using tools like Liquibase or custom Python/PowerShell scripts. • Assist in maintaining data integrity, availability, and security for mission-critical applications. • Contributes to the automation of database monitoring, alerting, and reporting solutions. • Document processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for database support and operations. • Support incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis in collaboration with operations and development teams. • Learn and grow within a DevOps team environment, following best practices for Agile delivery and continuous improvement.

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). • 1–3 years of experience in a database administration or database-focused application support role. • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, and familiarity with other RDBMS like MySQL or PostgreSQL. • Understanding of relational database concepts, stored procedures, triggers, views, normalization, and indexing strategies. • Experience with version control systems like Git or Bitbucket for managing SQL and database scripts. • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and supporting tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions. • Exposure to DevOps pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform or scripting tools). • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail. • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn from senior engineers and participate in team-based delivery.
