Description

• Manage a set of technical committee assignments according to the regulations governing NFPA documentation. • Ensure timely and accurate revisions are captured for specifically assigned standards documents. • Demonstrate strong understanding and expertise in NFPA standards development process. • Responsible for understanding, researching, and preparing for moderately complex technical and standards development challenges. • Manage TQS (technical question service) cases by reviewing and providing answers. • On an as needed basis, provide content creation/curation support in response to Technical Services requests. • Consistently demonstrate The NFPA Way by bringing Passion, being Bold, being Curious, getting Connected and Owning it!

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, degree in chemical engineering or industrial hygiene preferred • 4-6 years of related experience in engineering or industrial hygiene • Professional certification or licensure in an area of expertise (i.e., Professional Engineer, Certified Industrial Hygienist, etc.) is preferred. • Knowledge of Engineering principles and terminology • Advanced understanding of technical subject area or industry • Understanding of and practical application of the Codes and Standards. • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Experience in technical and business writing • Proven experience in public speaking and presentation giving • Meeting facilitation skills • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to forge relationships with a large cross-section of constituents • Ability to effectively navigate and resolve complex situations with diplomacy • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) • Detail oriented and strong project management, planning and organization • Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate technical information
