📋 Description

• Director of Public Health Data Modernization provides strategic leadership, project management, and expertise • Oversees initiatives supporting public health agencies in enhancing data infrastructure • Works with NNPHI leadership and partners to develop strategies for data modernization • Leads data modernization initiatives and manages project work plans and budgets • Builds relationships with funding organizations to secure project funding • Oversees technical assistance for public health infrastructure grant recipients • Develops collaborations for implementing data modernization projects • Represents NNPHI in national meetings advocating for data modernization best practices • Directs teams for webinars, meetings, and sessions promoting collaboration • Provides technical assistance to public health agencies and stakeholders • Mentors and supervises staff and interns as needed • Leads proposal development and secures new funding opportunities • Manages contracting processes for projects • Enhances NNPHI’s leadership role in public health data modernization

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in public health, Health Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in governmental public health, health data systems, or public health technology initiatives • Experience designing and delivering training and technical assistance to public health agencies or similar audiences • Strong knowledge of public health data infrastructure, interoperability standards, and health information technology policies • Experience designing and using public health or clinical data systems, evaluating technology interventions, and managing software projects (preferred) • Experience with tribal public health organizations (preferred) • Proven experience in program management, budget oversight, and stakeholder engagement • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent NNPHI in high-level meetings and conferences • Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and lead teams in a fast-paced and evolving public health environment • Experience with data system evaluation, technical assistance, and workforce training • Familiarity with software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, project management platforms (e.g., Smartsheet), customer relationship management systems (e.g., Salesforce), and survey/evaluation tools (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey)
