📋 Description

• The Fractional Controller leads client financial management, acting as the primary point of contact across various clientele and ensures accurate, timely completion of all bookkeeping and financial reporting. • You will supervise bookkeepers, manage month-end closes, implement internal controls, and present financial reports to clients, adhering to GAAP and SSARS 21. • Strong technical accounting skills, client communication, and proficiency in QuickBooks are essential. • Our goal is to build long-lasting relationships by providing the highest level of service and oversight to the people we work for, while providing a first-class experience for each team member. • Who we are: Platform Accounting Group is a rapidly growing professional services firm providing tax, accounting, assurance, IT consulting, and soon to be wealth management services to small and medium sized businesses and their owners. • We currently have 41 offices in 14 States with much more growth on the horizon. • We fully understand that every employee has different needs, so our unique business model allows for more flexible work arrangements than most firms can offer. • Enjoy a professional and dynamic work environment while making work/life balance a priority. • What you will do: Serve as the primary point of contact across numerous clients, cultivating strong client relationships and understanding their unique financial requirements. • Educate, mentor, and train team members at various levels, reviewing the work of both entry-level and senior staff to ensure precision and quality. • Deliver comprehensive accounting and advisory services to a diverse clientele, including individuals and businesses across various industries. • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including transaction entry, reconciliation of general ledger, credit card, and cash accounts, and the preparation and posting of journal entries. • Perform intricate adjustments and reconciliations, conduct accounting system and record clean-ups, and establish accounting systems for new clients. • Generate financial reports using accounting software, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SSARS 21. • Prepare payroll and payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, and manage fixed asset and personal property reporting. • Apply industry expertise and research skills to deliver exceptional service on complex projects, conduct proactive risk and compliance assessments, and provide best practice recommendations to clients. • Organize and manage personal and team projects, prioritize completing tasks, and guarantee timely project completion and adherence to deadlines. • Analyze and interpret financial reports from clients and accounting software, preparing and posting journal entries for business clients. • Continuously expand your knowledge of tax laws and accounting practices to better serve client needs.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years professional accounting experience, preferably across multiple clients and industries • Strong understanding of GAAP and SSARS 21, with proven ability to apply these standards • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and train team members • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building strong client relationships • Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify issues, and develop solutions • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and strong Excel skills, with familiarity in other financial software • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks • Must be able to work independently in a remote capacity, take initiative, and anticipate client needs • Commitment to staying current with accounting standards and best practices • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. CPA preferred
