Come join the Android Chat team and help us build innovative solutions for millions of redditors • The current experience lacks a real-time, casual environment that is more innate of a chat experience which is due to the forum-like structure of Reddit’s Posts and Comments • We are hiring a Senior Android Engineer who can help us innovate to create the next Reddit chat. • You’ll get a chance to contribute to the product and business strategy, in addition to technical challenges and work alongside product managers, user experience designers and business analysts.
🎯 Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent technical expertise • 5+ years of hands-on, professional software development experience developing user-facing Android mobile native applications at scale, using Java or Kotlin • You are a strategic thinker who thrives on developing a long-term technical foundation and has a passion for developing scalable, well-designed software that improves people’s lives globally. • A track record of leading large projects that require cross-team and cross-functional collaborations • Experience with modern Android development frameworks such as Jetpack Compose and Kotlin coroutines. • Entrepreneurial spirit. You are self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments. You love to build new things and thrive in ambiguity and even failure. • Experience working with cross-functional teams such as design, product, data teams to deliver great user experiences.
