β€’ Reddit is a community of communities focused on shared interests and authentic conversations. β€’ Join the Data Processing and Workflow Foundations team as a Staff Software Engineer. β€’ Work at the intersection of infrastructure and software development. β€’ Engage in engineering Kafka as a platform and promoting event-driven architectures. β€’ Collaborate on automating critical aspects of the event-driven development process. β€’ Deliver software to enhance the availability and efficiency of Kafka components. β€’ Share on-call responsibilities with the engineering team.

Requirements

β€’ 7+ years of experience developing internet-scale software, preferably in the context of infrastructure. β€’ Experience with asynchronous communication patterns and solutions, bonus if familiar with Kafka specifically β€’ Experience developing on top of Kubernetes or similar distributed systems. β€’ Kubernetes controller or operator development experience is a huge plus. β€’ Strong troubleshooting capabilities surrounding both systems and software. β€’ Experience engineering large systems, tracking work, and being a self-starter on projects. β€’ Excellent communication skills to collaborate with a service-oriented team and company. β€’ Experience navigating cross-functional migrations β€’ Experience mentoring other engineers.
