• Remote is solving global remote organizations’ biggest challenge: employing anyone anywhere compliantly. • This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Payroll Country expert, joining our Payroll Risk and Compliance team. • Our ideal candidate will have experience in regional/global payroll operations, including a deep understanding of wage tax laws and social security regulations in at least one country. • Proven track record in identifying payroll compliance risks and implementing controls.
Requirements
• Strong Legislation expertise in India country/region • Proven experience in a senior payroll role within an in-house payroll environment processing payroll or being in an payroll audit, compliance role. • Understands the approach taken by local authorities and has proven track record of communicating with authorities to resolve matters. • Has had exposure to local authority investigations and audits • Experience in making recommendations for process improvements and ensuring that they are implemented • Strong sense of accountability and ownership of tasks • Proficiency in data manipulation (eg sql, Excel) • Excellent time management and organisational skills • An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities. • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international work environment with a passion for making an impact. • Is a productivity geek and will constantly think of ways to improve and speed up their work. • You understand the need and ideal to work largely asynchronously. • Writes and speaks fluent English as well as the local language being recruited for. • It's not required to have experience working remotely, but considered a plus
