Description

• Provide legal counsel on employment-related issues, including hiring, termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour laws, and employee benefits, with a focus on California employment law. • Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. • Conduct internal investigations related to employee complaints and workplace issues. • Represent the company in employment-related arbitration, and mediation. • Collaborate with the People Team and management to develop and implement effective employee relations strategies. • Stay current on changes in employment law and advise the company on potential impacts. • Provide training and guidance to the People Team and management on employment law matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. • Admission to the bar of a state and able to practice in-house. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law, preferably in an in-house counsel role. • Experience in Canadian market is a bonus. • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, with a particular emphasis on California employment law. • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
