β’ About Rewiring America β’ Rewiring America is the leading electrification nonprofit, focused on electrifying our homes, businesses, and communities. β’ We develop accessible, actionable data and tools, and build coalitions and partnerships to make going electric easier for households and communities. β’ Rewiring America helps Americans save money, tackle nationwide emissions goals, improve health, and build the next generation of the clean energy workforce. β’ We believe in an abundant, flourishing, climate-safe future, and know that, together, we can realize one. β’ Position Summary β’ The Policy Analyst contributes to efforts to influence and establish state and local policy across the Midwest to advance Rewiring Americaβs mission. β’ This position plays a critical role on the State and Regional Policy team by developing and supporting campaigns to encourage electrification, cultivating networks with external partners, producing policy analyses and recommendations, and undertaking strategic and independent coordination responsibilities. β’ This position reports to the Senior Manager, Midwest Regional Policy.
β’ 3+ years of direct state level policy and climate advocacy work in energy, building electrification, environmental justice β’ Strong commitment to the mission, policies, and goals of Rewiring America β’ Critical thinker with exceptional writing and communication skills, including the ability to distill complicated information for different audiences β’ Highly organized policy advocate and facilitator adept at collaborating with various stakeholders, both internally and externally β’ Collaborative work style β’ Familiarity with technology to support remote teamwork β’ Ability to travel 10-15% as needed. Travel will primarily be regional with the exception of occasional conferences/training and staff all hands meetings. β’ Resident of Michigan or Wisconsin required (relocation assistance not available) β’ Experience working in an entrepreneurial setting with tight deadlines β’ Experience working with diverse advocacy coalitions β’ Advanced degree or equivalent work experience in public administration, public policy, political science, law, economics, or a related field
