Description

β€’ Riptide Technology is hiring a Mid -Python Software Developer for remote work based in Suitland, Maryland. β€’ Active Secret security clearance required. β€’ The Mid-Senior Software Developer supports Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) capabilities of the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI). β€’ The developer will participate in the development of web services and applications used by intelligence analysts to access and manage maritime intelligence information. β€’ Provides IT support services including software design and development, system/software testing, and direct on-call support to analysts. β€’ Works with stakeholders and clients to keep existing applications running while designing and modernizing future capabilities. β€’ Must have backend development and experience with Python. β€’ Ability to read and understand legacy Java backend software and database interfaces is very desirable. β€’ Further support includes migration of MDA capabilities to the cloud, and application of artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) tools to existing MDA data sets.

Requirements

β€’ Active DoD - Top Secret SCI security clearance required. β€’ 5+ years of experience in backend development, primarily using Python. β€’ Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, etc.). β€’ Hands-on experience with serverless architecture and designing applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB. β€’ Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs. β€’ Strong understanding of cloud-native development, including security, performance tuning, and scalability best practices. β€’ Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and Docker. β€’ Proficient in working with relational (e.g., Oracle and PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases. β€’ Experience in monitoring and debugging distributed systems in a cloud environment. β€’ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. β€’ Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. β€’ Familiarity with agile development methodologies. β€’ Core Business hours 9:00 - 3:00 with flexibility.
