Description

• As a senior embedded Linux Developer, you will design and develop our next-generation IoT AI vision sensors and SafelyYou life safety devices • The devices will combine the best of AI computing solutions with a high availability stack capable of analysis and reporting on residents' health and safety throughout the day • You will partner closely with our product management team and peers to define, design, and implement mission-critical features • You may also mentor junior team members and lead your projects through the full development lifecycle • Key parts selection and evaluation for embedded Linux devices, especially those with integrated cameras • Identification and management of OEMs for potential partners and customizable part sourcing • Evaluation of partner-proposed solutions to optics, thermal, power, etc challenges • Testing and validation of hardware devices • Integrate, develop, and/or customize components of our embedded Linux OS and system software running on our AI cameras • Integrate, evaluate, and modify manufacturing partner-provided patches to the chip manufacturer’s SDK • Adapt AI-team requests and algorithms to our device-specific NPU and camera interfaces • Adapt Fleet-team requests and code to the OS configuration and available interfaces • Adapt Video-team requests and code to the device-specific video processing interfaces and capabilities • Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solution • Provide technical guidance to the team through mentoring, training, and experimentation • Make design decisions and provide recommendations throughout our entire IoT platform and within the team • Lead by example by making quality a core aspect of the delivery • Promote the adoption of agile best practices while being an ambassador of our company values • Communicate passionately about the team, mission, and technology

Requirements

• Experience using yocto/openembedded building embedded Linux systems and applications • Experience with system software like systemd, cryptsetup, docker, iptables • Experience with GStreamer or other video processing pipelines • Experience with SoC VPUs, ISPs or other hardware video processing pipelines • Experience with SNPE, OpenGL, or other compute accelerators like CUDA, PyTorch, BLAS, AVX • Basic hardware knowledge relevant for embedded Linux devices • Intermediate software knowledge relevant for embedded Linux devices • Optical system design experience - image sensor, lens, illumination • IoT or edge device design and integration • Has worked with an OEM/ODM to customize their product to company-specific requirements • Has designed or developed a Qualcomm (or NXP, Ambarella, etc) Linux or Android device • 7+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent in a SaaS company, preferably in a startup environment • Proven track record of designing and developing IoT solutions, preferably with AI/Computer vision capabilities • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate multi-functionally • Prioritize quality over speed.
