• Working for a company like Smile Digital Health means supporting our mandate for #BetterGlobalHealth. • We strive towards this goal every day, and the results can be seen in the impact of our innovative health data platform and data management solutions, which are used in over 20 countries. • Smile Digital Health makes it easy for healthcare stakeholders to collect and exchange data with our leading FHIR-based data liberation platform. • At its heart, the Smile platform enables people and organizations to better manage healthcare data. • We help generate and liberate structured healthcare data to ensure effective delivery across care teams and health systems bringing #BetterGlobalHealth to patients everyday! • Apply today and find plenty of reasons to SMILE! • The Knowledge Engineer is responsible for expressing medical specifications as data queries using software language designed to be accessible to non-technical individuals. • These queries are employed by healthcare systems around the world to support healthcare providers in making the best clinical decisions possible and to measure the quality of healthcare they provide. • This role will include researching and writing simplified healthcare code, researching healthcare data models, designing test plans to ensure data accuracy, building data models that exercise the test plan, and iteratively employing feedback from the results to correct the code.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-5+ of experience as an informaticist, software developer or another relevant role, healthcare technology experience is a great asset. • Post-secondary education in computer science or a related field of study or comparable related work experience. • Excellent computer literacy skills and abilities. • Strong collaborative verbal and written communication skills. • Proven creative problem-solving and critical thinking with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • High level of self-motivation, drive, and enthusiasm coupled with integrity and professionalism. • Experience in programming and/or programming tools is preferred, but not required. • Experience with FHIR is highly preferred. • Experience with query language(s), such as SQL, is highly preferred.
