Description

• Participate in preparation of proposals and scope development • Work with the DC designers or the Wind Turbine Layout in preparation of collector system • Perform AC cable ampacity calculations • Analyze and determine feeder loading • Assist with Utility interconnection support • Prepare IEEE Effective grounding study to confirm safe step-and-touch potentials • Arc flash studies Hazard Assessment low and medium voltage • Evaluate system short circuit and voltage profile • Review static reactive capabilities and size the reactive power equipment accordingly • Lightning shielding study to verify the apparatus is protected against direct lightning strikes • Coordinate design activities with other departments (Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line, etc.) • Provide training and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program • Minimum 3-5 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience) • Engineer In Training Certification / Professional Engineer registration strongly preferred • Proficiency with National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE / ANSI Standard • Strong preference for those with Excellent written & verbal communication skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Capability of solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard approaches, techniques, procedures, and criteria
