Description

• Manage, optimize, and secure Teradata databases in complex environments. • Oversee database architecture, performance tuning, and strategic planning. • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members. • Lead routine maintenance to ensure database stability and reliability. • Develop and enforce comprehensive backup and recovery strategies. • Establish and enforce database security policies and practices. • Serve as the primary point of escalation for critical incidents. • Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support. • Lead and participate in database-related projects and migrations. • Create and maintain documentation of database architectures and procedures. • Collaborate with IT departments for integrated database solutions. • Stay current with industry trends and implement process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience • 7-10+ years of experience in Teradata database administration with a proven track record of managing large-scale, complex environments • Expert knowledge of one or more of the Teradata • Advanced proficiency in SQL • Experience with Azure or AWS is highly desirable • Databricks and/or Snowflake are highly desirable • Extensive experience with database backup and recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions • Strong experience in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and capacity planning • Understanding of following Change Management procedures to deploy system changes • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously • Proactive, strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement
