Description

• Responsible for performing simple to complex and diverse circuit design activities. • Responsible for managing the network design assignments and reject resolution. • Communicate with internal order management personnel and various internal teams on order fulfillment. • Meet/exceed daily and weekly performance targets. • Assist other team members and Management with training needs and mentoring. • Plan and implement network augments and pop builds on the IP/Ethernet network. • Works under general supervision both individually and within a team environment. • Design planning, record creation and order fulfillment of Zayo’s products. • General understanding of network QOS, IP routing, Ethernet switching and tagging mechanisms. • Work with Service Activation and Field Technicians on issues during pre-build and customer turn up activities. • Help troubleshoot post installation tickets when necessary to fulfill customer expectations. • Design complex circuits to interface with other carriers or customer solutions. • Provide direction in the circuit design function of the Engineering Department for orders. • Maintain specific customer commitments and deadlines in the Salesforce and MSS database. • Provide order status updates on the order when necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education, training and/or experience. • Minimum of five (5) years telecommunications and/or data networking experience including minimum of three (3) years design engineering provisioning experience. • Requires the ability to meet inflexible deadlines; perform non-predictive multiple tasks; and handle customer conflict to a successful resolution. • Computer skills including experience using spreadsheet, word-processing database programs and typing. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Working knowledge of routers and other data hardware. • Intermediate knowledge of Data Networking and telecommunications, including understanding of basic bandwidth and services: EoTDM, EoC,EoF, 3rd party transport, long haul through our own Network, Ethernet, TCP/IP. • Experience with Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS). • Products including ELINE, ELAN, Private Line, Dedicated Internet, MPLS, Cloud Services. • Experience using Microsoft Office and Google programs and project management software. • Able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions in controlled situations. • Deal with some abstract but mostly concrete variables.
