America’s Promise Alliance was founded in 1997 by five U.S. Presidents and General Colin Powell. Over the last 24 years, our Alliance has grown into a community of hundreds of the top youth-supporting non-profits in the country, working together to advance equity, increase opportunity, and improve outcomes for young people in America. Collectively, our member organizations serve millions of young people each year across every state in the country.  

America’s Promise Alliance is an independent entity that exists to serve the youth-supporting field*, to build the community, establish the infrastructure, and secure the resources necessary for collective improvement and action at national scale. Our job is to make collaboration among our member organizations effective, efficient, continuous, informed by communities, and joyful. We believe that if you want to foster coordination and collaboration, you start by building relationships. We believe that if you want to build a field, you first create an authentic community dedicated to helping each other. We believe a sustained and continuous effort to bring the best organizations into deep and trusting working relationships with one another will ultimately translate into more effective and more connected support for young people across the country.

Lead coordination of strategic initiatives at America’s Promise Alliance.

• The Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives is responsible for fostering seamless execution, coordination, and continuous improvement across all Alliance community activities.
• They will spearhead the coordination of work across all Alliance community initiatives and workstreams, creating a seamless and organized membership experience for participating organizations.
• The Senior Director will handle various tasks and assist in communicating the CEO’s strategy and organizational priorities across APA internal teams.
• The role requires an individual who is results-oriented, highly analytical, strategic, and innovative.

Vice President

Leads fundraising strategy at America’s Promise Alliance amid rapid growth and evolution.

• The Vice President of Development (VPD) leads all fundraising efforts at America’s Promise Alliance (APA)
• The VPD is responsible for securing the investment necessary to meet the organization’s annual goals and long-term strategic vision
• This includes all fundraising strategy, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
• The VPD joins the organization in a time of rapid growth and evolution, during Year 3 of a new 5-year strategic vision
• Opportunity to support the knowledge sharing and capacity building work for the fundraising teams of Alliance member organizations

Vice President - Development

Lead programming for the Alliance community at America’s Promise Alliance.

• The Director of Alliance Programming (DAP) is responsible for the design, planning, organization, and execution of programming for our Alliance community.
• The Director of Alliance Programming manages a portfolio of Alliance community program offerings to ensure (1) a high-quality experience for our member organizations, (2) that we achieve our intended impact in each offering, and (3) that we use data and feedback to drive the continuous improvement of our community over time.
