• Responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships across the workers’ compensation and liability communities. • Promoting the adoption of professional administration at the highest levels. • Responsible for maintaining and updating the WC community and Ametros colleagues on Medicare updates, enhancements to the reference guides, and self-administration toolkit, case law, and relevant industry developments. • Act as a consultant for Ametros with workers’ compensation, litigation, judiciary, and insurance community. • Represent Ametros at industry events and speaking opportunities. • Assess and monitor developing trends in the national workers' compensation and liability markets. • Develop and maintain relationships with the national workers' compensation claimant bar, defense bar, regulatory community, judiciary, and insurance community. • Provide consultation to the national workers' compensation bar on litigation and settlement strategies. • Educate, consult, and mentor staff on Workers Compensation fundamentals and Medicare Set-aside Agreements. • Develop ongoing regulatory strategy to educate WC commissioners and outreach. • Strive to educate the national workers' compensation community and liability on Medicare Set-aside Accounts. • Track and study the expansion of Medicare Set-aside Agreements into the national liability market. • Work with colleagues to ensure appropriate use of workers' compensation legal and medical concepts. • Engage in projects that highlight the value of professional administration of Medicare Set-aside Accounts to the workers' compensation and liability communities. • Collaborate with channel partners on matters related to Medicare Set-aside Accounts and professional administration. • Monitor, review, and study new and existing directives issued by CMS that impact Medicare Set-aside Accounts.
• Graduate from an American Bar Association accredited law school with admission to a state bar or deep experience in regulatory/government affairs. • Minimum of ten years of experience in formal workers' compensation case management, including, but not limited to litigation, case preparation, prosecution, and settlement. • Mediation experience is helpful but not required. • Experience as a workers' compensation regulator or administrative law judge is advantageous but not essential. • Working knowledge of CMS directives, guidance documents, and other writings formalizing the MSA process. • Excellent communication skills with the ability and willingness to speak before groups of lawyers, judges, insurance executives, and others involved in the workers' compensation industry. • Experience consulting with attorneys, insurance companies, and employers on settling Workers' Compensation and liability cases. • Experience in executing change management initiatives with established approaches. • Collaborate with insurance State & Federal Affairs representatives. • Monitor CMS Alerts and follow Medicare proposed regulations. • Participate the Medicare Secondary Payer Network organization and Policy & Legislative Committee.
