📋 Description

• Vice President (VP)-Underwriting is responsible for producing, underwriting, managing and retaining profitable business. • The primary objective is to underwrite, maintain and grow the Ambridge portfolio. • Reports directly to the Senior Vice President (SVP) with shared responsibility for underwriting performance. • Provide advanced technical expertise with service of clients through cross-selling opportunities. • Manage the entire underwriting cycle for individual accounts. • Lead and provide guidance to team members in achieving departmental goals. • Review evaluations of underwriting and risk information; communicate findings to management. • Initiate pricing discussions on new and renewal accounts. • Ensure business is carried out within underwriting capacity. • Review portfolio for exposures and pricing adjustments. • Develop recommendations for changes to portfolio and pricing. • Work with SVP to update underwriting philosophy and coverage endorsements. • Participate in Peer Review meetings to discuss accounts. • Identify issues with in-force accounts; liaise with claims, legal, and loss control. • Advise clients on policy coverages and contract wording. • Ensure all submissions comply with regulatory guidelines. • Prepare and maintain significant management reports and make recommendations. • Provide management with custom MI, including updates on operational performance. • Work with SVP on the budget; monitor compliance with profit and growth objectives. • Develop and implement procedures based on applicable laws and industry standards. • Foster team behavior and a sales-oriented department culture.
