Description

• Reporting to the General Counsel, provide legal advice to the Research & Development organization. • Negotiate, draft, and support various R&D agreements. • Interact with external stakeholders like universities, CROs, and clinical trial sites. • Assist the company in fulfilling compliance with industry standards and regulations. • Build a strong compliance culture within the organization. • Proactively identify legal and compliance-related gaps and implement solutions. • Advise on corporate legal matters, manage claims or litigation. • Coordinate the company’s patent, copyright, and trademark portfolio with external counsel. • Ensure strong relationships with key stakeholders to promote compliance.

Requirements

• JD required, additional degrees (e.g. MBA, MPH) a plus. • 3+ years’ training at a top law firm working on relevant corporate matters, preferably in pharmaceuticals and/or biotech. • 10+ years’ experience as an in-house lawyer, including at least 5 years in a biotech or pharmaceutical company with contracting responsibilities. • Experience working at a commercial-stage, public biotech or pharmaceutical company is required. • Understanding of Good Clinical Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices; R&D, payor and distributor contracting. • Knowledge of applicable commercial and compliance requirements, risk management practices, and methodologies. • Confident in decision-making and solution oriented. Track record for driving innovative solutions to business challenges. • Strong project management skills to proactively manage and prioritize multiple workstreams and initiatives. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment. • Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills, including leading trainings and experience presenting to a board of directors.
