Description

• Our mission is to make higher education accessible and affordable for everyone. • We empower students with financial support and supercharge their ability to pay down their debt. • We build tools that help people feel in control of their financial future. • As the Director of Infrastructure, you will collaborate with the CTO to assess infrastructure needs. • Develop a strategy for new technology adoption and upgrades. • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality work aligned with the infrastructure roadmap. • Direct the creation of monitoring tools to achieve a faster time to detection of issues. • Partner with the Security and Compliance department to address cloud security issues. • Lead, inspire, and develop team members. • Develop a modern infrastructure engineering team based on self-service tooling practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in software technologies • 5+ years of direct experience leading and managing infrastructure or devops teams • 5+ years of direct experience running a production environment • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with project and application development teams, management, and clients • Technical understanding of cloud management concepts, principles, and industry best practices • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) • Experience crafting and managing on-call rotations, incident management, and postmortem practices • Experience in writing and developing policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines is required • Strong business/relevant industry acumen with the ability to build strong customer relationships across various levels of the company • Willing to travel to the Oakland office monthly to collaborate with other Earnies
