• Escape Velocity is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior QA Engineer to join our team. • The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in quality assurance practices and video game industry standard engines like Unreal or Unity. • This role will involve contributing to and implementing automated testing strategies to enhance the overall quality of our game products.
• Collaborate with the development team to understand feature requirements and develop comprehensive automated testing strategies. • Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for game features using game engine and related tools. • Conduct manual testing and identify bugs to provide detailed reports and recommendations for improvement. • Work closely with developers to ensure that quality standards are met. • Participate in the testing of new features for shipping games and live service updates. • Continuously learn and adapt to new testing tools and methodologies. • Familiarity with gaming engine visual scripting systems. • Passion for video games and ensuring high-quality player experience. • Understanding of requirements and costs associated with automated testing. • Strong communication skills to articulate issues clearly. • Demonstrated ability to actively learn and adapt to new challenges. • Proactive approach to problem-solving in quality assurance. • Willingness to accept coaching and teaching. • 1–2 years’ experience creating test plans, investigating, debugging, and writing automated tests. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or related field (preferred but not required).
