Description

• Create and implement Family Promise’s national advocacy strategy • Leverage national advocacy experience and relationships • Monitor and analyze federal legislation and regulations • Advocate for existing funds availability for families at risk of homelessness • Identify prospective legislative and policy champions • Engage with national advocate partners and homeless service leaders • Communicate relevant policy and advocacy efforts to stakeholders • Represent Family Promise on policy-related coalitions and meetings

Requirements

• Commitment to preventing and ending family homelessness • 5-7 years working with federal agencies and, ideally, members of congress • Strong understanding of legislative processes and procedures • Ability to create and implement strategies • Be a bridge-builder who can advocate for policies • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Ability to convey complex ideas clearly • Ability to learn new issues quickly • Bachelor's degree in policy, nonprofit management, business, or related field expected
