• GEICO is seeking an experienced Manager, Commercial Insurance Engineering with a passion for building high-performance applications and platforms with generative AI capabilities. • You will build and manage a team of engineers with a deep focus on delivering Commercial Insurance products to operate in a highly performant and efficient way. • You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement. • A Manager will lead execution of a technical roadmap that will increase the velocity of delivering products and unlock new engineering capabilities. • The ideal candidate possesses exceptional technical expertise, with a strong ability to enhance application performance, improve user experience, and drive efficient test automation. • Additionally, they demonstrate a curious and nuanced understanding of commercial insurance concepts.

Requirements

• Proven management experience leading teams of 5+ engineers • Strong background in delivering digital - web and/or mobile - products at scale. • Ability to prioritize and drive results based on business value to the organization. • Fluency with at least one modern language such as Python, Java and experience with open-source software is a big plus • Strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills. • Proven ability to concentrate and demonstrate a capacity for learning technical concepts and adapting to new technologies quickly • Strong Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure etc.) platform knowledge • Proficiency in Project Management and work item management tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps • Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and core computer science concepts • Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to both Senior Leadership, highly technical and non-technical audiences • Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and build and release practices in commercial insurance
