Description
• Support the Office of the Corporate Chief Underwriter within the Expense, Analytics & Governance organization • Demonstrate accountability, agility, inclusiveness, and strong business acumen • Provide recommendations around new tools and methodologies for risk selection • Analyze, create, and develop rules for algorithmic and accelerated underwriting processes • Develop competitive underwriting guidelines with research, documentation, marketing, and presentations • Interpret large sets of data and communicate data trends effectively • Consult with stakeholders on core issues and identify solutions • Handle projects with urgency based on business prioritization
Requirements
• HS diploma or GED • 8+ years of relevant work experience in Life Insurance Underwriting • Minimum $5+ million life approval limit without second signature • Bachelor’s Degree preferred • Industry designations/education (FALU, FLMI, CLU) preferred • 10+ years Mastery level knowledge of individual life insurance practices, underwriting standards and operations • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to think strategically and influence others • Ability to partner with key constituents to support strategic and tactical development • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations • Entrepreneur mindset – drive business forward with latitude for independent decision making • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
