Description

β€’ Be the first point of contact for all employees in HR from compensation to employee relations and more for our employees around the world. β€’ Own, run, and optimize all HR operations including HR systems and tools, HR processes e.g. payroll administration, talent acquisition, employee onboarding, etc., and HR programs e.g. employee engagement, development, and performance management. β€’ Gathering and analyzing HR metrics (e.g., time to hire, headcount). β€’ Partner with managers and leadership to improve overall employee engagement and productivity, helping to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. β€’ Develop, update, and implement human resource policies, including the employee handbook in partnership with leadership and counsel, as applicable. β€’ Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies including FTE and contingent worker requirements and compliance. β€’ Develop and document processes and procedures in SOPs. β€’ Continually streamline and optimize existing processes and systems, recommend and oversee improvements.

Requirements

β€’ Experience managing in a global, distributed, remote company; preferably in an early stage tech start-up environment. β€’ Strong working knowledge of core compliance & labor law requirements, and the ability to find out and learn more as situations arise. β€’ Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development. β€’ Experience with PEO partnerships and Canadian payroll practices and benefits. β€’ Knowledge of application tax, provincial, and federal regulations. β€’ Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and partnership skills. β€’ Ability to work proactively and independently, with a relationship first mindset to partner with necessary stakeholders to get projects completed and questions answered. β€’ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt to changing priorities.
