Description

• Maintain and expand AIP Publishing’s revenue base by introducing new products and services. • Focus on small to medium sized accounts. • Work with support and marketing staff to understand customers’ needs. • Maintain effective and productive relationships with librarians and information professionals. • Achieve sales quotas by renewing subscription products, and selling additional products and services. • Collaborate with marketing staff to promote products and generate sales leads. • Provide clear, constant, and accurate reporting. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of AIP Publishing offerings. • Reach and exceed annual sales targets and objectives. • Drive sales growth by renewing existing accounts and adding new products. • Make direct sales contact with key decision makers and library contacts. • Develop accounts by researching customer’s buying history. • Work closely with marketing staff to keep customers informed. • Understand the competitive marketplace and identify differentiation opportunities. • Report on market trends and sales performance to Director of Sales. • Produce timely and accurate sales reports. • Keep Salesforce CRM updated and analyze opportunities and activity. • Monitor sales-related expenses to ensure budgets are not exceeded.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to interpret data to help inform decisions • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to make persuasive product presentations adapted to different buyer requirements • Ability to work in cross-functional teams • Ability to propose creative solutions to challenging problems • Must possess good negotiation, influence, conflict management, and customer service skills • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with ability to make persuasive product presentations adapted to different buyer requirement • Strong organizational skills and good time management • Familiarity with STEM publishing environment a plus • Experienced with Salesforce or similar CRM a plus • Fluency in a foreign language a plus
