Description

• This is a U.S. based position. All of the programs we support require U.S. citizenship to be eligible for employment. • Raft is a customer-obsessed non-traditional small business with a purposeful focus on Distributed Data Systems, Platforms at Scale, and Complex Application Development. • We’re looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer to support our customers and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers. • As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be diving deeper into the software lifecycle, taking on more complex tasks and leading smaller project initiatives. • You will write code, engage in design discussions, and mentor Associate and Standard Engineers, maintaining high standards.

Requirements

• Ten plus years of hands-on experience as a software engineer • Demonstrated track record of technical leadership • Ability to disambiguate technical requirement and functional requirements to provide your team direction • Proficient with Java, JavaScript, Python, React & Angular • Strong experience in multiple Big Data/Cloud/Enterprise Frameworks • Experience in creating robust web-socket and RESTFul APIs • Deep knowledge of SW design and architecture patterns • Proficiency with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes • A strong collaborator who can work well with a diverse team • Able to mentor junior engineers • Demonstrated working knowledge & experience in the following areas: - Kubernetes - Ability to leverage multiple types of databases - Support CI/CD pipelines - Developing performant applications • Able to obtain a Security+ certification within 90 days of employment with Raft • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related field • Highly preferred: - Experience with Software Factories and Big Data Platforms - Certified Kubernetes Developer
