Description

• Administer new and existing reinsurance agreements in line with treaty parameters, ensuring proper accounting treatment for all reinsurance transactions • Prepare, record, and reconcile journal entries for reinsurance activity, ensuring accuracy and compliance with treaty terms • Maintain spreadsheets tracking treaty activity, including claims fund tracking and financial reporting • Perform timely and accurate calculations, recording, reporting, and billing in accordance with reinsurance agreements • Identify and resolve reconciliation issues related to reinsurance activities, coordinating corrective actions as needed • Manage client, reinsurer, and internal stakeholder communications, including collaboration with departments such as claims, actuarial, and finance • Ensure the company meets all reinsurance agreement terms through proactive communication and oversight • Support audits by preparing relevant financial documentation and responding to audit queries • Assist the Reinsurance Accounting Supervisor in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of reinsurance accounting operations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; CPA or master’s degree is a plus • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the insurance or reinsurance industry • Strong proficiency in Excel and experience using accounting software • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
