Description

• Develop and manage the legal aspects of Slate’s commercial supply chain and distribution contracts. • Provide advice primarily to the supply chain and distribution teams on matters regarding commercial transactions. • Negotiate, draft, and review a wide variety of contracts and agreements, including those involving goods and services suppliers; construction; equipment purchase, software services and licensing; distribution and other subjects. • Develop and implement best in class policies, playbooks and trainings for the supply chain team to drive legal efficiencies. • Support the development and implementation of, and ongoing compliance with, internal policies and procedures. • Manage ongoing project prioritization with business leaders. • Participate in and assist with the resolution of contract-related claims and disputes.

Requirements

• 6-8 years’ experience in the practice of commercial law. Preferred experience in manufacturing supply chain matters in a startup environment. • J.D. degree from an accredited law school, along with active membership in at least one state bar. • Strong transactional background (experience with supply chain & distribution contracts preferred). • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills; take a leadership role in transactions and develop solutions and compromises to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and practical ways. • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent written and oral communication skills; communicate effectively at all levels within the company (including senior management) and with external vendors and outside legal counsel. • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, without supervision, and with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. • Experience with some combination of law firm and in-house in the automotive manufacturing industry is preferred. • Eventual light travel required. • Pacific Coast Region highly preferred.

Benefits

• Base salary - US wide $110,359 - $185,105 • Short-term and long-term incentive programs – 401k match, annual bonus and company equity, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans, HSA/FSA.
