📋 Description
• Build a scalable, efficient commercial contracting function. • Lead negotiations of commercial contracts, such as software licensing terms, data-processing agreements, vendor agreements, and partner agreements. • Own updating our playbooks and commercial templates, including our terms of service, data-processing agreements, NDAs, and vendor agreements. • Drive to completion at least one new process that improves our commercial function. • Provide clear and practical advice regarding privacy and data protection laws and data governance.
🎯 Requirements
• JD or LLM from an accredited law school and maintains active bar membership in at least one US state • 4+ years of legal experience, including significant commercial contract negotiation experience, ideally with a high-growth startup or similarly fast-paced environment • Experience negotiating commercial contracts (on-premise and/or SaaS products) for fast-growing B2B software companies • Nice to haves: Experience with AI/ML products and familiarity with current or proposed legislation and issues impacting AI/ML systems, including privacy legislation • Experience negotiating EMEA, APAC, public sector, and partner contracts • Knowledge of US and international privacy laws (ie. CCPA, GDPR) • Product or privacy counseling experience
