📋 Description

• Stack is developing revolutionary AI and advanced autonomous systems designed to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency of modern operations. • The ML Platform team is responsible for the infrastructure to support the entire machine learning lifecycle at Stack, including data management, data annotation and search, training, deployment, and management of machine learning models and applications from datacenter to edge. • As the Head of ML Platform, you will drive the vision and lead development of the critical infrastructure for Stack AV to succeed as an ML-first AV company. • Oversee the development and continuous improvement of data management and machine learning infrastructure, ensuring scalability, integration, and adaptability to future needs, with a focus on safety and reliability. • Lead and mentor high-performing teams, elevating their technical capabilities, fostering innovation, and ensuring high-quality execution. Develop leadership talent and guide senior leaders to achieve their potential, pushing the organization toward greater technical excellence. • Develop and communicate a clear technical vision in line with the company’s ML-first strategy, ensuring its execution aligns with business needs and the evolving technological landscape. • Manage and drive large-scale initiatives across engineering, product, and operations teams, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives. Foster collaboration to deliver impactful solutions efficiently. • Ensure effective team structures, fostering collaboration and efficiency. Guide teams to execute initiatives while maintaining alignment with organizational goals and delivering high-impact results. • Maintain a strong customer-centric approach, ensuring solutions address critical needs related to perception, decision-making, and operational infrastructure. Collaborate closely with customers to prioritize their challenges and ensure high-quality delivery. • Utilize strong communication skills to articulate a clear vision, make key decisions, and guide teams through pivots. Ensure clarity in decision-making, alignment with goals, and efficient execution across teams. • Lead efforts to stay ahead of technological trends and innovate within the organization. Encourage teams to adopt cutting-edge solutions, balancing innovation with robust, reliable, and safe infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience working in related problems of ML infrastructure, with demonstrable impact delivering large infrastructure-related initiatives. • 5+ years of management experience, with 2+ years of experience managing an organization with multiple teams of engineers • Deep expertise in data management and machine learning workflows, who can identify trends quickly and adapt to the future needs of tomorrow. • Strong system mindset to ensure we build an integrated system that works well as a whole, and also addresses safety. • Excellent management skills to enable organizing a team of teams and work collaboratively across the company. • Excellent leadership skills to manage the team to execute and deliver efficiently and work closely with stakeholders (perception, decision making, ops, onboard infrastructure, cloud infrastructure). • Excellent communication skills to convey a clear vision as well as key decisions so the team pivots in a coherent fashion.
