β€’ Be a hero for our rare disease patients β€’ Ultragenyx is seeking a physician leader with the passion and creativity to develop gene therapies for patients with rare and ultra-rare diseases. β€’ The Medical Director will be a key contributor to shaping strategy and implementing the medical affairs plans for various gene therapies. β€’ Responsible for supporting development of an integrated evidence plan, forging strong relationships with key opinion leaders, and supporting payer-related activities and educational events.

Requirements

β€’ Medical Doctor (MD, DO) with Board certification (or equivalent) in Biochemical/Metabolic Genetics or Endocrinology (required) β€’ Experience in the management of patients with inherited metabolic disorders β€’ At least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred, with Medical Affairs experience being ideal; however, extensive relevant clinical experience may be considered as an alternative β€’ Clinical or industry experience in gene therapy is preferred β€’ Comfortable with ambiguity and developing innovative approaches, ability to work independently and as a member of an integrated, interdisciplinary team β€’ Proven leadership skills including a passion for collaboration and understanding all stakeholder perspectives to drive alignment and decision-making. β€’ Excellent speaking and writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including medical professionals, and the general public β€’ Highly analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to identify interdependencies, consider the medical implications and understand the broader goals of a program and the organization β€’ High aptitude for attention to detail, demand for high-quality work, and sense of passion and urgency to achieve goals and improve the lives of patients. β€’ Travel up to 30%
