β€’ Lead the Union Operations team, ensuring excellence in daily operations β€’ Manage a remote team of payroll specialists who utilize a ticketing system to address and fulfill customer payroll needs and expectations β€’ Build and nurture a cohesive, high-performing payroll operations team where members feel valued and supported β€’ Set and maintain clear expectations for quality, accuracy, and compliance β€’ Conduct performance management conversations to drive growth and development within the team β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to enhance teamwork and foster a culture of continuous improvement β€’ Oversee all hiring, termination, promotion, and performance-related decisions for the team β€’ Partner closely with the product team to provide a prioritized list of what the team needs β€’ Determine the appropriate org structure and resourcing needed to be successful β€’ Key decision maker for payroll operational matters β€’ Participate with other leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives β€’ Partner cross-functionally to drive initiatives that help the broader team win β€’ Provide recommendations for new processes, tools, roles and responsibilities

Requirements

β€’ At least 5 years experience in payroll operations β€’ Union Experience required β€’ Experience people manager with at least 3 years of direct management experience β€’ Proactive, self-starter that will drive the team’s day to day; optimize productivity β€’ Drives all management responsibilities including coaching, goal setting, performance management, hiring, terminations β€’ Demonstrated success escalating appropriately, providing recommendations, driving to resolution β€’ Demonstrated success in implementing processes and efficiencies that best service our customers β€’ Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate cross-functionally and across all levels β€’ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup environment β€’ Experience executing remittances or processing payroll. If you have not performed these functions, you have managed a team responsible for remittances and processing payroll β€’ Experience with Canadian payroll processing preferred
