Description

• Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly • Looking for an energetic and hardworking product lawyer to join our team • Support Affirm’s Direct to Consumer and Merchant Engagement team enhancing user experience • Counsel on relevant federal and state consumer financial services laws and regulations • Provide strategic advice regarding state and federal lending, consumer finance and protection laws • Monitor legal and regulatory developments in consumer lending and servicing • Identify and evaluate business and legal risks • Draft terms and conditions, disclosures, review copy & consumer user experience

Requirements

• Ideal candidate will have 6+ years of related business, government, or fintech experience, preferably with a focus on BNPL or Consumer Payments • JD from a highly-reputable, ABA-accredited law school • Someone who has established expertise in all areas of the consumer credit lifecycle, including originations, underwriting, licensing, money transmission, fair lending, BSA/AML, servicing, furnishing, & collections • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one state bar/jurisdiction • A combination of federal government and in-house experience is preferred • A quick learner who genuinely enjoys legal analysis and collaboration in a fast-paced environment • Experience developing creative approaches to legal challenges while providing business-focused legal advice • Inquisitive and proactive in identifying risks and proposing creative and effective solutions • Strong project management, critical thinking, creativity, and analytical skills • Someone focused on maintaining positive relationships and trust with cross-functional business partners • Passion for improving credit products and consumer experiences
