Description

• The Director of Business Development will be responsible for developing and maintaining new business clients in Ascent’s focused Mobility Vertical. • This individual’s focus is to create strategic relationships with key Customers within the Mobility markets to strengthen Ascent’s position in time-critical and premium logistics solutions. • New Business Development: Builds and maintains relationships with logistic contracts through regular, in-person professional communications and travel. • Cultivate and nurture relationships with mid-tier and top-tier customers to understand their needs and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. • Identifying, pursuing, and securing new business contracts with a target value exceeding $25 million. • In-depth knowledge of the mobility sector or of similar fast-paced and dynamic industries. • Identify and create opportunities for Ascent’s time-critical and premium transportation solutions. • Deliver compelling solutions for prospective Customers that create sustainable value. • Build strategic relationships with key personnel on various levels of the Customer organization. • Provide regular market updates and intelligence to the Customer. • Act as trusted advisor to the Customer and offer support for all transportation and supply chain related matters. • Travel Responsibility- 25-50%

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Expertise and proven track record in Ascent’s Mobility market. • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. • Knowledgeable in use of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • Must be proficient in the adoption and use of Ascent’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
