• Report to the Clinical Services Business Development Regional Director. • Perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols. • Create and implement a written Business Development plan. • Develop attractive customer propositions based on needs uncovered during the sales process. • Generate sales leads using multiple methods. • Be responsible for the submission of commercially viable proposals and quotations. • Track and report progress against assigned objectives weekly. • Follow up with customers post sale for satisfaction and transfer to post-sale teams. • Build, maintain, expand and grow key customer relationships. • Capture and document competitive sales tactics and services ideas. • Be a subject matter expert and key contributor in large or global RFPs. • Travel to visit customers and represent the company at trade shows.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent/applicable experience. • 5+ years of business development or similar experience. • Proven track record of verifiable sales success. • Business-to-business sales experience, preferably in clinical trials and logistics. • Knowledge of effective business development approaches in the Biopharma industry preferred. • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written. • Excellent team interaction skills. • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with business owners and decision makers. • Ability to handle difficult situations with a focus on providing solutions. • Excellent analytical skills and ability to sell strategically. • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, etc.). • Previous work with salesforce.com an advantage.
