• Join BECU as our Director Credit Risk Officer for our Real Estate portfolios, and see how you can lead transformative initiatives within our Credit Risk Management division. • Your strategic oversight will shape credit risk strategies, enhance governance standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across Mortgage and Home Equity portfolios. • Collaborate with Chief Credit Officer (CCO) and business leaders to develop and execute credit strategies aligned with BECU’s risk appetite and loan portfolio objectives. • Conduct regular, in-depth analysis of portfolio performance, identifying and addressing risk opportunities and threats. • Drive initiatives to adjust and enhance risk appetite through the development and support of credit risk initiatives, including portfolio origination, account management, collections, and loss mitigation strategies. • Utilize statistical analysis and business acumen to develop and refine standards, policies, and guidelines. • Develop and refine credit campaigns and related procedures to optimize risk management practices and align with strategic objectives. • Monitor macro and microeconomic trends, industry best practices, and regulatory changes. • Establish and maintain effective communication with internal and external auditors and examiners (NCUA, DFS). • Lead the development and implementation of credit risk strategies and guidelines across BECU’s loan and deposit portfolios. • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to foster employee performance and development.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of relevant credit risk management experience. • Minimum 6 years of experience in financial industries, focusing on Mortgage and Home Equity. • Minimum 5 years of people management experience. • Minimum 5 years of experience with presentation development software (e.g., Tableau, PowerPoint). • Minimum 5 years of experience developing credit risk policies and system decision logic using data and statistical analysis. • Graduate degree in relevant field (desired). • Demonstrable knowledge of credit risk scorecards and models (desired). • Experience with regulatory compliance in financial institutions (desired). • Proven track record of leading successful risk management projects (desired).
