Description
• Serve as a technology training resource for new coders • Ensure new coders receive necessary training and materials • Provides Epic, 3M and other detailed training • Participates in the development of communication and tools for all coders • Assist Manager and Director with miscellaneous projects • Complete monthly, quarterly and coding application testing • Represent Coding on daily revenue cycle calls • Work to analyze and resolve coding account issues
Requirements
• High school graduate Required or GED Diploma from an accredited program Required • Completed course in anatomy and physiology Required • All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. • Cert Coding Spec or Cert Prof Coder or Reg Health Information Admin or Reg Health Information Tech Required • AAPC Upon Hire Required • Minimum 2 years of acute care coding experience Required • Minimum 1 year experience working and resolving coding/billing account edits and or/denials Required • Computer/data entry experience Required • Must have and maintain a 95% or higher accuracy in abstracting, code and DRG assignment while meeting productivity requirements • Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team. • Ability to use EXCEL, Word and have basic computer operational knowledge.
