• Principal Field Solution Architect (FSA) role focuses on pre-sales solution design. • Responsible for working with internal and external sales teams to plan and organize sales strategies. • Analyzes the sales environment including customer expectations, competitive environment, as well as the customer's technical environment and defines actions to be performed in the sales cycle timeframe. • Expected to spend the majority of their time engaged with CDW customers and locations in their local markets. • Develops and maintains strategic relationships with Sales Management of the teams they support and is seen as a trusted advisor to grow business. • Expected to be subject matter expert in multiple families of solutions. • Operates independently using standard approaches, existing tools, templates, and resources; shares knowledge and information that may benefit the team. • Focuses on pre-sales solution design for CDW’s current and emerging portfolio of modern data technologies and related data platform technologies. • Owns the process of developing scopes of work that help customers achieve their business outcomes. • Conducts technology/solutions training for CDW audiences (e.g., Sales, Inside Solution Architects), using developed material.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience • 7+ year minimum technical pre-sales or technical architecting experience • Stay up to date on products, applications, technical service, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature, seminars, and online training • Proven project management skills • Proficient in Microsoft Power/Data applications, particularly in the Microsoft Data Fabric suite including but not limited to: - MS Azure Data Factory - MS Azure Data Warehouse - Power BI (power apps) - OneLake - Real-Time Intelligence - MS Data Engineering & Data Science • Preferred experience with data visualization technologies such as Tableau architecture, implementation, administration, dashboard development & licensing • Ability to develop and deliver VAR-oriented service delivery services such as: - Workshops - Assessments - Posture analysis - Small POC deployment - MVP - Temporary ad hoc day 2 consulting • Proven success and experience selling technologies solutions and services • Knowledge and proven success of engaging and working with sales teams • Ability to define & execute on territory and accountability goals and metrics • Ability to adapt and change to the business needs of the practice and team coverage model • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, including consulting skills • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong passion for learning and teaching others • Motivated and self-starting • Ability to think creatively and come up with proactive ideas that will increase sales • Strong problem solving skills • Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information. • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology. • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize. • Ability to apply common sense in performing a job. • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines. • Ability to travel as needed.
