β’ Director, Search & Evaluation β’ Day One Biopharmaceuticals focuses on developing treatments for pediatric oncology patients β’ Create meaningful business impact by shaping future growth β’ Identify, evaluate, and recommend oncology assets to license or acquire β’ Part of a dynamic team with high visibility with Senior Management β’ Unique opportunity to leverage scientific training while gaining business development experience β’ Fully remote with occasional travel for in-person meetings β’ Conduct initial triaging and assessment of inbound opportunities β’ Perform proactive search and outreach to identify partnering or acquisition opportunities β’ Build relationships across academia, corporates, investors, and others in Oncology β’ Identify and evaluate novel oncology targets based on literature and unpublished studies β’ Collaborate with expert teams to evaluate opportunities and drive decision-making β’ Support completion of transactions by collaborating with transaction leads β’ Participate in regular internal meetings to discuss and prioritize opportunities β’ Support internal process including developing proprietary databases for targets, programs, and clinical trials of interest
β’ PhD or MD/PhD with strong knowledge in cancer biology, proven project management skills, and 5+ years of industry experience in Pharma, Biotech or Venture Capital with experience in S&E a plus β’ Keen scientific acumen with strong knowledge of the Oncology landscape, emerging science, drug discovery and development processes, industry trends and competitive environment β’ Deep understanding of key modalities including small molecule chemistry and biologics (antibodies and ADCs) β’ Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, with ability to prioritize while balancing many projects but openness to shift priorities and manage the unknown β’ History of working in complex team environments with diverse stakeholders and ability to build collaborative working relationships with multidisciplinary teams β’ Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into succinct and effective storylines and produce high quality output of due diligence findings to enable decision-making β’ Effective communication, cross functional thinking, and problem-solving skills along with strong scientific understanding and business acumen to engage with internal stakeholders and external partners β’ Strong self-motivation and work ethic and ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment β’ Confidence in presenting to management β’ Foreign language skills in Mandarin beneficial β’ Travel 25-30%, including some international
