Description

• Make a difference advocating for the rights of people with disabilities • Remote position with flexible working conditions • Essential advocacy and legal support, mainly focusing on administrative hearings • Lead training and provide technical assistance to attorneys and advocates • Perform community-based advocacy and outreach

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) or equivalent and membership in good standing with the California State Bar • Seven years of experience practicing law • Four years of demonstrated experience in representation at administrative hearings or civil litigation • Strong relationships and collaboration skills • Expertise in areas of law for intellectually and developmentally disabled Californians • Ability to work independently with minimal administrative support • Knowledge of rights for people with disabilities in California • Strong sense of professional responsibility and ethics • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail • Desirable: Fluent in Spanish or an Asian language, training experience, proficiency with Windows-based applications, varied perspectives engagement skills
