• Identify new market opportunities, trends, target accounts, and strategic partnerships, including identifying new target opportunities (via online research and networking) and build strategic partnerships with municipalities. • Stay on top of industry news and track funding recipients and housing targets, etc. • Use outbound and inbound marketing channels to identify and generate leads, and conduct research on prospects to qualify their fit, suggest key stakeholders, and identify decision-makers. • Maintain ongoing communication and relationships with high- and mid-level municipal planning contacts. • Work closely with Esri Canada Industry, Marketing, and Account Management teams to ensure the right target accounts are being pursued, understand the business strategy, and drive conversations with customers and prospects. • Serve as an advocate for Canada’s Planning and Housing products and services by representing the company at industry events, conferences, and forums. • Create account summaries with insights into organization, challenges, and short- and long-term objectives, then suggest account entry strategies. • Lead discovery calls with prospects, record insights, and coordinate internal teams. • Support extended team to prepare demos and presentations. • Coordinate Follow-up on inbound marketing leads and prospects to identify and qualify interest. • Work with Account Manager and Professional Services teams to refine the opportunity’s scope and build out a solution.
• Degree in Urban Planning or related field • 5+ years working in a municipal planning department • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – can “speak planner” • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills. • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage several projects at once. • Willingness to learn Salesforce. • Solid ability to do effective web research on any given topic. • Bonus points for this position: Business development or sales experience • French Proficiency preferred. • Ability to travel within and outside of Canada • Project delivery or project management experience.
